Plastic Torsion
Item Code: RS 035
In the field of solid mechanics, torsion is defined as the change in the shape of the cross section of on object due to an applied torque. Torsion test is one of the tests of mechanical properties which is carried out to examine plastic deformation in the shafts. This apparatus consists of an arm capable of generating torque, and it has a precise mechanism to compensate stiffness. The torque is calculated by a load cell and the torsion angle is calculated using an angle sensor. As a result, the rigidity modulus of the parts can be calculated.
