Hook’s Law
Item Code: RS 033
Hook’s law explains the elastic behavior of the parts which slightly deform as a result of loading. Most materials follow the Hook’s law as long as the force is less than their elastic limit. The materials or bodies to which the Hook’s law is applicable are called linear elastic or Hookean materials. To put it more simply, this law says that strain has a direct relation with stress. This apparatus demonstrates the application of Hook’s law and the deformation of extension springs under loading. For this purpose, 2 springs are hung from the support and are loaded by a weight hanger and different weights. Series and parallel spring configuration can be obtained and tested.
