A gas turbine is an internal combustion engine that uses air as the working fluid. It compresses cold air, increasing its temperature and pressure, then burns fuel to add heat. The hot air then drives a turbine that powers the initial compressor. Real applications use the remaining energy in the air as a jet for direct propulsion, or to drive another turbine, producing mechanical work. This unit includes two-shaft gas turbine has a single shaft main turbine and compressor to power the compressor and a combustion chamber between the main turbine and compressor. Gas leaves the main turbine as a high energy exhaust gas ’jet’. This device has a second power or free turbine to capture some of energy in the flow of hot gases as mechanical work using a dynamometer.
