Coriolis Force
Item Code: RD 083
Coriolis force or Coriolis effect is a pseudo force which causes a deviation of moving objects to the out of a straight line direction, from the vision of an observer inside the rotating machine. The RD 083 experimental unit is designed to clearly demonstrate the effect of the Coriolis force in a rotating reference system. A transparent water tank with submersible pump is placed on a rotatable arm and then rotated. Within the rotating reference system, the pump produces a water jet in a radial direction.
