Condensation Process

Condensation Process

Item Code: RH 072

When steam comes in contact with a surface whose temperature is lower than the saturation temperature of the steam, the steam condenses, and the condensate flows down due to the force of weight. According to the wettability of the surface, condensation occurs in two forms, droplet or film. If the liquid completely wets the solid surface and a layer of liquid completely covers the surface, film condensation occurs. But if the liquid created on the surface is not uniform and only drops are scattered on the surface, droplet condensation occurs. This unit enables the simultaneous observation of condensate on the condenser. This unit consists of a glass container, a heater that is installed inside the chamber and fluid is poured into the glass chamber. In order to observe film and dropwise condensation, two condensers are installed vertically in the chamber.
